November in Malmö...

Yes, even in Malmö, it's November now. Some days are depressing, others not so much. Today the sun is shining and it looks to be a good day. What's new? Well, Barack won and we are hoping that he rings more good to this world than his predecessor. We'll find out soon enough.

In our personal life, changes are smaller. Starting last week, we now have two daily newspapers: Svenska Dagbladet (the biggest daily newspaper in Sweden) for half a year free, thanks to a special student deal, and Sydsvenska Dagbladet (the biggest daily newspaper in Skåne) for a month for free. We'll enjoy it while it lasts.

J. got a new mobile too. It was kind of a weird deal, but Joe traded his old cell for his new one. The new one was used too, but it was a lot newer than his old one and even had the receipts with still one and a half year of warranty left. It is a really fancy phone, with touch screen and a whopping 8GB of internal memory (for lots of music). Well, unnecessary to say that Joe is really happy.

Karin had a test run for her candlelight swimming yesterday. Officially starting next week, Karin will offer her swimming guests the opportunity to swim to soft music and candlelight on Wednesday mornings. Even though no one expected it yesterday, the people who went swimming yesterday appreciated it a lot. As well, Karin will be giving new aerobics sessions soon, which she is really exited about.

Weekend getaway...

Once again, we were travelling. This time, we went over to Germany for a few days. We had to take care of some legal stuff, and whilst we were already there, said hi to Joe's mum as well. It was a short trip, but we got most things done (except for opening a bank account...) and even had time to finish up Franziska's green house,which we started last time we were there. It was really nice to e involved in both the start-up and finish of the project. What else did we do? Eat some German food and drink some German beer of course!

Now we're back in Malmö again. It's pretty cold outside (6°C), but no wonder, it's already November! Staffan stayed over last night, on his way back from the Azores. He was a it surprised seeing so many people dressed up as witches or monsters last night. Had Sweden changed that much since he was gone or was it just Malmö that is so weird? But of course, it was Halloween and many people were out to party. Speaking of which, tonight, we'll be going to Juans birthday party. It'll be interesting to see who's gonna be there. One thing we're sure of: it's gonna be fun!

Gotta write that blog entry...

Hi y'all!

I know we've been bad... Not writing any posts in our blog and all... Anyways, lots of stuff has happened since last. Karin is working (too) hard at her gym again, where she now is in charge of the pool-part. This means that she has to organize all the swimming schools and what not... As well, she now gives aerobics classes, Core at the moment, but soon even Power and Afro Dance (She's gonna get some more sun before that one... ;-)
Joseph is studying again, both in Malmö and Lund. Last term went well, so Joseph passed all the exams, something that he is less sure of this term... it's all gonna be good, though. Gotta stay positive.

A couple of weeks ago, we went to Germany to say hi to our family (it was Joseph's mum Franziska's birthday). Joseph went to Berlin first to check by his dad and brothers, than we went to Neubrandenburg for the birthday party. Franziska enjoyed our company so much that she decided to come with us to Sweden for a week. The weather wasn't great, but we still had a good time. Karin and Fran even went to the Skördefesten on Öland, where they had lots of fun.

Sadly though, Joseph's computer stopped working for good this time. We had to get a new one, which crashed after only one day. that wasn't fun. Now, with a new power supply, the computer is working again and Joseph is writing this entry off it right now.

On Saturday, we went to Copenhagen together with our friend Jenny to have a look at the Bodies exhibition. Even though it is not the original German Bodie Wordlds, it was still interesting to watch. Afterwards, we went to the Hard Rock Café and had potato skins, spareribs and chicken wings (which didn't feel weird). Than a bit of shopping and a cuppa at the Moon Café in Christiania (can't go to Copenhagen without going to Christiania). Even though the weather was shit, we all had a really good time.

Our nephew Fabian had his 1st birthday last week (well, second really, if you think about it, anyway, he's one year old now). And we once again send our best wishes to him and his family. Also, tomorrow (22 October) is the 35th anniversary of the death of my grandfather and my dad told me he'd light a candle for him from all of us.

Staffan is still on the Azores, but it looks like it's not gonna be any house soon, with the bad economy and all. Last week, the Euro cost more then ten kronas for the first time. That's what you get for holding on to your inflatious currency...
